Kent Children’s Center
The Kent Children’s Center program is designed to encourage cooperative exploration and play between age-integrated groups of children. Classes expose 3 to 10 year olds to educational concepts that provide opportunities to learn and master new skills. Educational supplies are age appropriate and plentiful. Play equipment is designed to challenge and build young bodies and encourage group cooperation.
KCC staff members encourage the children to complete age appropriate tasks independently. The child’s confidence increases as he or she attempts and masters new skills. The children progress toward group interaction and cooperation.
The students are exposed to weekly educational themes through a variety of venues. These include circle time, reading and acting, arts and crafts, cooking, science, snack time and free play. This exposure to both structured and unstructured activities is met with curiosity and excitement. Through this curriculum, fine and gross motor skills improve, educational knowledge is enhanced and social skills continue to progress. The goal is to ready the student for kindergarten and future educational and social experiences.
The Kent Children’s Center is an early childhood program accredited by the National Association for the
Education of Young Children.
